Amnesty zu Brasilien vor der WM: „Strategie der Angst“

„Eine Woche vor Beginn der Fußballweltmeisterschaft in Brasilien hat die Menschenrechtsorganisation Amnesty International (AI) die brasilianische Regierung aufgefordert, das Demonstrationsrecht zu achten. Brasiliens AI-Direktor Atila Roque übergab am Donnerstag im Rahmen der Kampagne „Gelbe Karte für Brasilien“ 87.000 Unterschriften an die Brasilianische Regierung. In einem am Donnerstag veröffentlichten Bericht dazu heißt es: „Für Anmnesty International bedeutet die WM einen wichtigen Test, ob Polizei und andere Behörden in Brasilien ihre Verpflichtung verstehen und ernstnehmen, das Recht auf freie Meinungsäußerung und Versammlungsfreiheit zu respektieren.“…“ Artikel von Bernd Pickert in der TAZ vom 05.06.2014
