„The European council and the European ministers of foreign affairs make racist and prohibitive policies against refugees and migrants on a very high level. In reaction to the recent admitted mass drowning in the Mediterranean, they only concluded to arm the forces that control and aggressively prevent people’s movement, such as frontex. They will hold their next summit at the 26th and 27th of June in Brussels. Different groups of refugee and Migrant movements in Europe plan a protest march from Strasbourg to Brussels. This will begin shortly before the European parliament elections at the end of May. The marching refugee and supporting activists will walk about 450 km within one month. 400 Migrant*Innen Besetzen Park in Brussel nach 500km Protestmarsch von Strasbourg und anderswo. BRÜSSEL – Der Protestmarsch für Freiheit – eine Demonstration von Migrant*Innen und Aktivist*Innen aus der ganzen Welt – erreichte heute, am 20. Juni ein Monat nach ihrem Beginn in Strasbourg vom 20. Mai Brüssel. Die Aktivist*Innen kampieren im Parc Maximilien, Brüssel in den alle herzlich eingeladen sind das Protestcamp zu besuchen. - World Refugee Day 2014
„This friday, the 20th of june, it’s the World refugee day. We invite you to mobilize this day everywhere you are to show your solidarity with all refugees in the world. This will be an occasion to show our anger to the authorities about the situation of refugees in europe. We are here because the western countries create problems in our countries. They are responsable for everything that happens there. Nobody wishes to be a refugee.
For one month we are marching from Straßbourg to Brussels to fight against the anti-migration system of the European Union. The March for Freedom will arrive the 20th of june in Brussels. We need a lot of people during our action week from 20th to 28th of june, especially during the summit of migration from 26th to 28th of june. - Luxembourg the 5th of June, 2014
„Today we were brutally attacked by police forces in Luxembourg during our peaceful blockade action against the summit of the European Council. While the Ministers of Interior Affairs of every EU member state were sitting inside behind closed doors speaking about the Mediterranean Task Force, the new Executive Director of Frontex as well as better ways to administrate the Schengen Area. As the agenda of the summit concerns us, the victims of their laws and policies, we wanted to send representatives of the Protest March for Freedom to read out our demands, since our voices – as a group that‘s fighting for the rights of the oppressed – should be the priority topic of such a summit. - 4 June, Action Day in Luxembourg: „Today we had our action day in Luxembourg. As the bourgeois media didn’t cover our story, We decided to occupy the RTL building in Luxembourg. In our action we managed to enter the building and ask for our demands. They called the police and tried to stop us. And: a delegation group from Lampedusa in Hamburg joined the march. We are really happy to be together now because we have a lot to share and to do. Protestmarsch von Flüchtlingen nach Brüssel: In Schengen wurde das Frontex-Museum besetzt. Ein Gespräch mit Turgay Ulu, einer der Flüchtlinge, die den Protestmarsch von Strasbourg nach Brüssel von Beginn an mitgemacht haben. Interview von Gitta Düperthal in junge Welt vom 03.06.2014. Aus dem Text: „… Auf unserem Marsch gegen die europäische Asylpolitik haben wir bereits ungefähr 150 Kilometer zu Fuß zurückgelegt – etwa 300 haben wir noch vor uns. 40 Leute sind von Anfang an kontinuierlich dabei. Unterwegs schließen sich uns immer wieder Unterstützer an: Manche nutzen sogar ihre Arbeitspause dazu, uns ein Stück zu begleiten. Flüchtlinge kommen mitunter auch nur kurz mit und kehren dann wieder um, weil sie zum Beispiel einen Termin beim Amt wahrnehmen müssen, um ihr Aufenthaltsrecht nicht zu verlieren. Am 18. Mai sind wir von Strasbourg aus aufgebrochen und haben die Grenzregion Deutschlands durchquert. Am Sonntag haben wir die Grenze bei Perl nach Luxemburg überschritten. Beim Grenzübertritt waren wir ungefähr 300 Leute. Mit dem Boot haben wir dann die Mosel überquert, um an das unmenschliche Vorgehen der EU-Grenzagentur Frontex gegenüber den Flüchtlingen und an die vielen Toten im Meer zu erinnern. Wir haben anschließend die dortige Moselbrücke blockiert, um gegen den Umgang der EU mit illegalen Einwanderern zu protestieren…“
- Protestmarsch von Geflüchteten nach Brüssel, Festnahmen in Berlin
„Am Sonntag startete der „Refugee Protest March“, um auf die Flüchtlingspolitik der EU aufmerksam machen. Die Berliner Polizei nutzt die Abwesenheit protestierender Migranten für Festnahmen wegen einer Ordnungswidrigkeit
Ziel der Demonstranten ist der Europäische Rat, der am 26. und 27. Juni in Brüssel tagt und auch die Themen Justiz und Inneres behandelt. Kritisiert wird vor allem die EU-Grenzagentur Frontex mit Sitz in Warschau, deren Kompetenzen weiter wachsen. Im Dezember startete die EU das Grenzüberwachungssystem EUROSUR. Frontex fungiert als Hauptquartier und erhält stets aktuelle Lageberichte aus den Mitgliedstaaten sowie aus der Satellitenüberwachung. Die Agentur entscheidet, an welche weiteren Grenzbehörden Informationen übermittelt werden. Frontex verhandelt Kooperationsabkommen mit Ägypten, Tunesien, Marokko und Libyen. Die Regierung in Tripolis hatte vor knapp zwei Jahren beantragt, an ein europäisches Überwachungssystem des Mittelmeers angeschlossen zu werden…“ Artikel von Matthias Monroy in telepolis vom 21.05.2014
